Jones Mountain Trail
Still farther north than Pocasin Hollow, about a 20 minute drive from Lydia Mountain. Unlike Entry Run this trail is almost entirely in SNP. The climb is more gradual than Entry Run, so it is a bit easier
Driving Directions
- From Lydia Mountain take Bull Yearling and/or Turkey Ridge to South River Road.
- Turn right on South River
- After about 2.7 miles, turn left on VA Rt 230
- In Wolfstown,turn left on Graves Mill Rd
- After passing Hidden Lane, the trail begins on the left. You can park along the side of the road
Hiking Directions
The first half mile is a private road. The actual trail begins at the park entrance.
Points of Interest
- The only really good overlook on the trail. I believe that's Old Rag cropping up over the ridge. If there were a clear view south, the back porch would be in there.
